This Burgaw home had a full roof replacement. The photo shows the job part way through: the old roof stripped back and our crew on the roof laying new ice-and-water shield and synthetic underlayment before the finished roof went on. The finished roof is GAF HDZ shingles in Slate.
This is the layer you never see once a job is done, and it does a lot of the work. Ice-and-water shield is a self-sealing membrane used where water collects or runs, such as valleys, eaves and the joints around dormers and walls. Synthetic underlayment covers the rest of the deck and acts as a second line of defense under the finished roof.
